KYC & Government IDs: Identity and verification details such as Aadhaar number, PAN card number, driving license number, and proof of address (e.g. utility bill) that you provide for identity verification. We may also collect a selfie photograph (or similar biometric image) when verifying your identity against your ID documents. These are required for KYC/identity verification and legal compliance.
Payment Information: When you pay for rentals or services, payment details (e.g. credit/debit card or UPI information) are collected and processed securely by our payment partners (such as Razorpay) and not stored by us. We never receive or store your full payment card information.
Vehicle and Location Data: GPS location data of the rented vehicle throughout the rental period (to track and manage the vehicle). We also collect your device’s approximate location if you enable it, for features like locating vehicles.
Photos and User Content: Any photos or media you upload to our app or kiosk – for example, a profile photo or images of vehicle condition or incidents. This also includes any text, reviews, feedback, or other content you submit.
Usage and Technical Data: Information about your device and how you use our services: device type, operating system, browser/app version, IP address, and usage logs (e.g. booking history, session logs, error reports) . This data may be collected automatically when you use our app or visit our website, and is used to improve our service and diagnose issues.
How We Collect Data: We obtain this information directly from you when you register or make a booking in our app or at an offline kiosk, when you communicate with customer support, or when you upload content. We also collect data automatically through the app/website (such as GPS coordinates and log data) and from third-party service providers (for example, OTP/verification services for Aadhaar, and from Razorpay for payment processing). All data collection follows a legitimate purpose for our service, and we rely on your consent and legal compliance grounds to process it
2. Purpose of Data Collection
Your personal information is used only for the purposes described in this policy and consistent with the DPDP Act’s requirement that processing be limited to specified purposes. We use your data for the following primary purposes:
KYC and Identity Verification: We use your identity documents and selfie to verify your identity and eligibility to rent. This helps prevent fraud and meets regulatory requirements (e.g. safe driving laws and financial regulations).
Facilitating Rentals and Services: To create and manage your account, process vehicle bookings, and handle vehicle access. We use your name, contact information, and rental details to authenticate your logins, reserve vehicles, send booking confirmations and reminders, and provide customer support and roadside assistance.
Insurance Processing: Jibon Electric provides vehicle insurance coverage (up to ₹5,00,000 ) for rented vehicles. We use relevant personal and trip information to file or process any insurance claims with our insurance partners. This may involve sharing your identity and incident details with the insurer to provide you with coverage under the policy.
Payment Processing: We process your rental payments through secure, PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways. For example, we use Razorpay (or similar) as our payment partner to process card and UPI transactions. Your payment method details are handled only by these partners and are not retained by us.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance: We use your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and KYC obligations. For instance, if required by law or court order, we will share data with government or law enforcement authorities. We also use data to enforce our Terms of Service and to investigate violations (e.g. traffic violations, accidents).
Service Improvement and Analytics: To analyze usage patterns (e.g. how our app and vehicles are used) and improve our services. This includes conducting analytics on aggregated, anonymized data to optimize fleet deployment, app performance, and user experience.
